This is not a test

I was on stylemob earlier (surprise, surprise...) and saw a picture of a girl wearing a hairnet type thing, and I retrieved this otherwise forgotten memory of how I used to wear what I called a "snood" when I was in 4th grade, a black netting that I would wrap my hair in, and wear with a little dress or something. I was going through a complete Little Women and Louisa May Alcott phase. I might be the only 10 year old, or anyone ever for that matter, to have their birthday party at one of Alcott's houses (Orchard House in MA). I would much rather wear a dress to school than a pair of jeans, if I remember correctly. I also love how no matter how much of a gigantic dork I was, and trust me, I was (I wore a headgear to school from grades 1-6), I never realized it myself...and classmates were also kind enough to keep any kind of hateful comments to themselves. I've always thought of my childhood as being so charming, like something out of a storybook, because I was just so old-fashioned and the idea of having a birthday party at Chuck-e-cheese like every other kid in my class would never even occur to me. I'm still a pretty big weirdo....
