Don't worry, it's just a phase.

Another beautiful day. I put on a summery blouse, went to a meeting about the fashion show, sewed, went to work at the store, and then took a very nice nap. Nothing too exciting, but what more can you say about a perfectly lovely day?

Lacey Days

Today was really lovely, despite the terrible cold that has found its way back to Nashville and waking up with an insane case of insomnia at 5 am. (its ok, though, because the House marathon had started...) Tonight I may go to yoga, or curl up on my bed and read Influence, which I finally received in the mail!

The trees, like lungs, filling with air. My sister, the mean one, pulling my hair.

Yesterday I laid in bed and ate saltines and drank passionfruit tea while watching The Virgin Suicides. I had forgotten what a great movie it is. I have become obsessed with finding a dress just like the one Cecilia wears in the film, the old 1920s lace drop-waist, wedding gown-like dress. The soundtrack is also quite amazing.

Here is one of the lovely scenes from the movie, with with an Air song playing in the background.

Things I Adore Right Now

Band of Horses album Cease to Begin. Repeat Repeat Repeat!

This darling blog by a redhead named Zamara

The lovely photography in Fader magazine and Little Boots in general. Her music is dancey and happy and I love her blonde braids. She also recently did an interview with Peaches Geldof on Nylonmag.com!

The ethereal posts and writings of The Unicorn Diaries. She has a little bunny that makes its way into photos every now and then, and she writes about forgotten things like that movie I loved when I was growing up, A Little Princess, and Peter Rabbit! I could sit and read her blog for hours on end.

I start classes tomorrow. I have fashion forecasting in the morning, then business ethics and third year writing! Happy Wednesdays to everyone!

My name is lucille and I know how you feel.

Oh I had a beautiful vintage pearl collar to show you all, but blogger is being finicky with my photos. Instead, here is a necklace I received for Christmas. My mama got it in San Francisco. It's precious.

Tomorrow I go back to Nashville. for forever! kidding. But I really do not know when I will be back.

See you in the South!

"i couldn't even begin to think about knowing how to answer that question."

It might be absolutely necessary that I buy this coat, in order to be just like Margot Tenenbaum.

internal moral issues on fur here we go again...

Fringe and fire

So another snowstorm, and with my terribly traumatic experience with driving in the storm last week, I am stuck. stuck in the house. quite unproductively, too. well how can I be expected to do anything when all of the kitties are lounging in front of the fire, stretching and yawning, perfectly content. That's not fair, so I will do it too....

In the meantime, I wanted to show off my newly purchases Minnetonka Moccasins! I am so completely in love with them. I run around everywhere in them, mostly in short dresses and tights or leggins, despite the icky cold, and they are so comfortable!

By the way, the store I bought these dears at claims to be "The World's Largest Moccasin Shop". I don't know about that, Hayward's Trading Post, but you have satisfied my moccasin needs.

I return to my pretty Nashville this weekend! I can't wait to see my friends and set up my new sewing machine and my ruffler (that sounds like muffler when you say it, like a car muffler, but it is really an attachment for the sewing machine to make pretty ruffles and pleats!) I can't wait to ruffle everything. I'm going to like a 10 year old with a bedazzler. Ruffled socks, ruffled dresses, ruffled shirts, ruffled underwear....oh I'm exciting myself just thinking about it.

Mid-Morning Ramblings

I am determined to make this a good day. After getting less than 3 hours of sleep and waking up at 8 am with continued insomnia, I have been sulking around all morning, bleary-eyed and unproductive. I was bored and so made a Chictopia. I don't know how long it will last, I was just curious what all the fuss was about. I'll have to see....if you have one you should add me, pretty please.

Oh, AND I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. Ick, I hate it so much, a strange lady poking me with sharp things, scolding me for not flossing daily, and making me wait half an hour to eat anything afterward. I wouldn't have made the appointment, but my mom guilted me into it. Apparently I should take advantage of it now because when I graduate College I won't have dental insurance? boo.

In Love with Another Time

Last week my friend Hannah came over and we had a little tea party with cheese, crackers, little cookies, and cakes. I dressed for the occasion, especially excited to wear the vintage sheer gloves that Aunt Da gave me this summer.

New Year's Dolls

Here is a photo from New Years Eve with my cousin Laura, my sister Hannah, my dear friend Malainie, and I. We love our leopard print cardigans. Oh, and you can see our Whoville Christmas Tree still up in the background!

The last few days have been a bit crazy. oh, and cold! I really wish my parents would actually turn on the heat upstairs, because it is awful to have to try to sleep in a room where you can almost see your breath, even with wooly socks, sweaters, and down comforters. But besides that, I am enjoying the last week of my break, with high hopes of sewing, antique adventuring, drives up north, and perhaps even to Montreal or another part of Canada? We shall see...
